Greetings from beautiful Saint-Emilion.  As the flowers that will set the crop for the 2017 vintage are blossoming on the vines, we write to celebrate the natural beauty of summer with you, and to share what we are witnessing each day here on property at Château Fonplégade. Blessed by the ideal location and exposure of our estate, our community of beehive colonies has thrived, and last winter we decided to augment the number of them to further enhance the biodiversity on our property.  Each day, these industrious bees become more and more the guardians of our estate and we are honored to work alongside these companions as a new vintage begins to take shape. While our bees are wonderful team members in our work to preserve our ecosystem, we also want to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to our extraordinary staff team.  These talented and gifted family members are passionately committed to our singular purpose of creating the best possible expression of our estate’s diverse and coveted terroir.  The past several years have been a period of remarkable energy and opportunity at our estate, as we have dedicated ourselves to making the very finest wines in Château Fonplégade’s long and storied history.  We could not be more proud of what our team has accomplished. Through their hard work and diligence, they have turned lofty aspirations into a reality.  In every sense of the term, it has been a team effort.To devote fourteen years of our lives to achieving a goal, and then to be at this point with the wines we produce is extremely gratifying.  Simply put, there are no short cuts and excellence is earned through hard work and perseverance.  As always, we also want to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous support and loyalty through this rewarding journey.  Your confidence and friendship is our greatest measure of success.
