ELOI JACOB  –  DIRECTOR AND TECHNICAL MANAGER

After studying at the National College in Rennes, Eloi Jacob attended the prestigious ENITA de Bordeaux, where he earned his degree in agronomy with a specialty in viticulture and oenology. In the early part of his career, Eloi's passion for the vine took him from the great vineyards of the Côtes du Rhône to California's famed Ridge Vineyards, helping him to achieve a global understanding of world-class viticulture. In the years since, Eloi has been both the winemaker and technical manager for Château Lagarosse in Côtes de Bordeaux. He has also worked alongside winemaker Franck Jugelmann at Château de Candale, Château Roylland and Château de Bel Air.

In 2014, after seven years revitalizing the viticultural programs for Château Fonplégade in Saint-Emilion and Château L'Enclos in Pomerol, as the technical manager for both estates, Eloi was named the director of Château Fonplégade and Château L’Enclos. As director, Eloi plays a key role in guiding the renaissance of these two storied chateaux, while continuing to act as technical manager for both properties. With deep roots in the vineyard and winery, Eloi is a hands-on leader who personifies Château Fonplégade’s commitment to the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality.
